Two very large fishing vessels ice sculptures placed at the center of an exhibition space will self-mutilate. Sculpted first, deformed later, their singularity and resemblance will gradually dissuade as they melt. In this process of disfiguration one wonders at what point these monumental vessels cease to be individuals and become a single body of water inundating the space. I consider Atlas Spit an exaggeration, an almost morbid and unsettling sight view in which the fetishism for the destruction of human inventions becomes evident, magnified, exaggerated.
